Maintenance of your Cascadian water treatment system is simple and essential. Think of it like a refrigerator water filter—just bigger. A typical filter change takes about 10–15 minutes and helps keep your water tasting great, your home protected, and your life running smoothly.
Most customers choose to change filters themselves using the maintenance guide included with each product. Prefer a hands-off approach? Hire one of our recommended plumbers to service your system.
General Maintenance for ICS Systems
Cascadian ICS systems are designed for minimal maintenance. Filter kits are replaced once or twice a year depending on your water and system type. Every replacement kit has everything you need, and your existing housings remain in place.
Not sure what system you have? Use this guide to identify it or see legacy part number info.

What System Do I Have?
Moved into a home with a Cascadian system? Here’s how to find out what you have:
- ICS: Blue filter housings mounted to a bracket. Look for the part number on the label (e.g., ICS-STP).
- Replacement Filters: Same part number with a "K" at the end (e.g., ICS-STPK).
- Legacy Backwashing Systems: If your system has a digital valve and drain line, contact us with the serial number from the control head for support.
See Part Number History for older systems and replacement kits.
Error Code 01 on Backwashing Systems
If your controller shows "Error 01," it's often due to a power blip. Download our troubleshooting guide and consider installing a UPS backup to prevent future issues.
