Water Testing Before Purchasing Cascadian Treatment System

Water Testing Before Purchasing Cascadian Treatment System - Cascadian Water

If you are part of a city water program (you get a water bill each month);

You probably don't need to have your water tested. The reason you probably don't need your water tested is because your water provider is required to provide you with water the meets minimum water quality standards  and our products do not have problems working when water meets those standards.

If your water is supplied by a well;

You should consider having your water tested by a certified lab near you before you purchase one of our systems. You need to have your water tested because your water is not receiving any treatment to meet minimum water quality standards. Please keep in mind no system will eliminate all impurities from your water.

How to find a certified lab is different for every state. To get started you can do a quick web search or contact your local department of health.

When having a certified lab test your water make sure your request tests for the following in addition to all the normal tests for drinking water;

  • Bacteria
  • Turbidity
  • Tannin/Lignin
  • ORP (Oxidation/Reduction Potential)
  • pH
  • Hardness
  • Iron
  • Manganese and
  • TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)
  • Silica

Once you get the results back, review the "Conditions for Operation" on the product page for the system you want to purchase to ensure your system will work for your situation. If you have any questions about the results and whether our system will meet your needs, simply give us a call at 509-674-4000 and we'll help you find the system that is right for you.

Don't forget to verify there is no H2S (hydrogen sulfide, rotten egg odor) present. H2S can not be tested for in a lab with any accuracy. Simply verify whether it is present by smelling the water or asking your customer if they smell it. If H2S is present it must be treated prior to installing your ICS system. Our ICS-H is designed to treat H2S.
